OTEC member-owners can now text us at 541-406-6980 when they experience a power outage.
2024 was a historic year for wildfires in Oregon, with nearly 2 million acres burned, more than in any other year since the Northwest Interagency Coordination Center began tracking the data in 1992. It serves as a stark reminder of the importance of prevention and preparedness.
OTEC's service territory includes forests and rangelands, which are extremely vulnerable to wildfires. Mitigating wildfire hazards is a top priority for OTEC and is crucial for providing safe and reliable electricity to our member-owners and the communities where we live and serve. OTEC has a comprehensive Wildfire Mitigation Plan with proactive measures to reduce wildfire risks and ensure a swift emergency response.
OTEC is once again holding Wildfire Town Halls in June, talking about the Wildfire Mitigation Plan, Public Safety Power Shutoffs, and answering any questions you might have around these topics. We encourage you to attend.
