Cooperative Principle #7, Concern for Community states that cooperatives work for the sustainable development of their communities through policies supported by the membership. This principle signifies that co-ops, including OTEC, are not only focused on meeting the needs of their members, but also on contributing positively to the well-being and progress of the broader communities where they operate.
As part of our commitment to our communities, Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative welcomes the opportunity to help the members we serve. OTEC contributes limited cash, other donations, sponsorships and "work-in-kind" donations to community groups in our service area.
Consideration will be given to charitable organizations, activities or groups whose primary focus positively benefits a segment of the cooperative’s membership. Preference will be given to those organizations or groups that may provide services that benefit OTEC members or their families.
Requests must be submitted to the cooperative in writing and will include a statement regarding the intended use of the requested donation.
Donations must directly benefit the group, activity or organization, and the donation recipient must not use any cooperative donation funds for political organizations/groups, funding any political campaign of any kind, labor groups, or specific individuals or families.
It is expected that the organization, activity or group receiving donations from the cooperative will publicly acknowledge the cooperative’s donation.
Donations are provided for the purpose of public benefit, community improvement, charitable, scientific or educational purposes. OTEC regularly supports civic club fundraisers, local 4-H and FFA events, youth sports programs, community project improvements, and non-profit organizations.
To request a donation, please complete the form below explaining how your organization benefits the community and how the requested donation will help.
