Small Change That Can Change Lives

At Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative (OTEC), we believe in the power of neighbor helping neighbor. Through the Member-to-Member Bill Round Up Program, our members pool their small change to fund vital community assistance programs, local food banks, youth projects, and emergency relief across Eastern Oregon.

It’s one of the easiest ways to live out Cooperative Principle #7: Concern for Community.

How It Works

Participating in the program is completely automated, painless, and voluntary:

Round It Up: Each month, your OTEC electric bill is automatically rounded up to the next whole dollar amount.
The Power of Pocket Change: On average, a participating member contributes less than $1.00 a month—totaling roughly $6 to $12 a year.
100% Local Reinvestment: Every single penny collected goes directly into community-focused charitable initiatives via the OTEC Member Foundation, supporting local families, schools, and non-profits in your exact backyard.

Example: If your monthly electric bill is $124.35, your bill will be rounded to $125.00, donating just $0.65 to support your local community.

Member Project Share

You can also enable a donation of a fixed amount, either as a one-time donation or to be added to your monthly bill, without any minimum or maximum limit.

Where Your Contributions Go

Funds collected are used to support local emergency relief needs and programs within OTEC's four-county service territory.

The OTEC Member Foundation Board determines need and disbursement of funds.

Funds are distributed annually.

Yes! While we encourage everyone to participate, enrollment is completely optional. You can start, stop, or modify your participation in the Bill Round Up program at any time by contacting our customer service team or managing your account online through your member portal.
