Restoration Process

OTEC crews work 24/7/365 to restore power. We follow a proven process to help the most people in the shortest time:

  1. Transmission Lines: Large towers and cables carrying power to substations.
  2. Substations: Hubs that serve thousands of members.
  3. Main Distribution Lines: Lines serving entire neighborhoods or towns.
  4. Tap Lines: Lines delivering power to local transformers.
  5. Individual Homes: Repairs to the specific service line at your residence.

Quick Tips & Safety

While OTEC crews work to restore your power, your safety is our top priority. Outages can be more than just an inconvenience; they require careful handling of food, appliances, and backup power sources to prevent accidents or damage. Use these guidelines to stay comfortable and keep our utility workers safe while they repair the grid.
