General Criteria

  • Applicant must be a member of OTEC and/or...

  • Provide proof that the energy efficiency equipment is installed within OTEC’s service territory.

  • Rebates are subject to funding at the time. Funding is always limited and the programs are operated on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

  • Rebates will not exceed the cost of the project, including  labor and equipment.

  • Rebate program requirements must be fully met and verifiable upon completion.  

  • Additional qualifying criteria may be added or changed depending upon funding sources available.

  • Rebates may not be combined

Keep your home efficient, and save money.

Enjoy the rewards of energy efficiency. This list of utility incentives is updated throughout the year; however, utility incentive programs can change at any time. For more information, contact your local OTEC office.

Appliance Programs

If you are interested in receiving a rebate for one of the below appliances, please contact OTEC's energy efficiency experts. Click here to submit a rebate application.

  • Energy Star clothes washer

  • Energy Star clothes dryers

  • Energy Star dishwashers

  • Energy Star refrigerators

  • Energy Star freezers

  • Electric stoves, ranges, ovens

  • Electric water heaters 

Electric Heat Pump Water Heaters

OTEC offers a rebate of $150-$500 for a new electric heat pump water heater. Here is the link to our application.

Buy Local

Buy your product, that qualifies for an OTEC rebate, from a local vendor and receive an additional credit on your electric bill for our Buy Local Program, without any added paperwork.

Heating & Cooling Programs

Ducted Heat Pumps, Ductless Heat Pumps, Central Air Conditioning

OTEC offers various rebates for heat pumps and air conditioning. Rebates range from $150 on up.

Installer complete this application 

Install a new all-electric heat pump (indoor and outdoor units both operate on electric). Ask OTEC for a coupon good for $200 off an electric water heater from one of OTEC’s local participating vendors.

Web Enabled Thermostats

OTEC offers a $100 rebate for our members who have the following types of heating & cooling systems and install one of the approved thermostats.

  • All Electric Air to Air Heat Pump
  • Electric Ground Source Heat Pump
  • Electric Forced Air Furnace

Manufactured Home Program

OTEC offers a minimum $600 incentive towards an all-electric new manufactored home that is construction to the National Energy Efficiency Manufactured (NEEM) home standards. The rebates are dependent on being certified as a NEEM 1.1 or NEEM 2.0.

Please attach to the application the 2 page document showing the NEEM rating and information from your vendor.

Window Program

OTEC offers rebates based on window type, heating, and cooling and how many square feet of windows you are replacing.

Thermostatically Controlled Outlet Program

Do you have a pump house or a separate utility building that you keep heated with an electric space heater to keep the pipes from freezing? Purchase a thermostatically controlled outlet that turns the heater on at 35 and off at 45. Please complete the following application.

Insulation

Do you have permanently installed electric heat and a home with zero insulation (either in the walls, floor or ceiling)?Please complete the following application

Agricultural

Agriculture Program Rebates

Did you know that OTEC also offers incentives to farmers and ranchers who upgrade their irrigation hardware? By upgrading your irrigation needs, you can save water, electricity and therefore, money!

The cooperative’s Agricultural Energy Efficiency Utility Rebate Program is for energy-efficient improvements to equipment, including irrigation pump motors and other irrigation equipment.  OTEC offers incentives for members who purchase the following upgrades that can save you money, increase the lifetime of your equipment and increase irrigation efficiency.

Here are just a few types of agricultural incentives OTEC offers:

  1. Adding a variable frequency drive (VFD) to your irrigation pump that is over 20 horsepower.

  1. Replacing leaking irrigation hardware including nozzles, sprinklers, and gaskets.

  1. Upgrading to a new Low Energy Precision Application (LEPA), Low Elevation Sprinkler Application (LESA), Mid-Elevation Sprinkler Application (MESA), or Mobile Drip Irrigation (MIDI).

Commercial

Enjoy the rewards of energy efficiency

Commercial Windows

This incentive is for commercial buildings that meet the criteria for the window rebate. Qualifying criteria requires that newly installed windows meet minimum requirements and the building be heated with permanently installed electric heat. Please complete the rebate application. Submit this window audit form with your application

Commercial HVAC

OTEC offers incentives for new HVAC system, upgraded systems, connected thermostats. Members complete this application. Installer compeletes this application. Information about Trade Ally Network (TANNW) and projects available.

Commercial Appliances

If you are interested in receiving a rebate for one of the below appliances, please fill out an application. Submit this application with the invoice and energy guide.

OTEC offers incentives for other projects that will save energy that is documentable through a measure and verification process.
